ASP Level 3 Design

The Design team at iEngineering offers years of ASP Level 3 Design  experience together with a practical knowledge of power line construction practices.

ASP Level 3 Design

iEngineering Australia is an Accredited Service Provider for ASP Level 3 Design  work (ASP L3) with Electrical Utilities/Industries, Renewable Energy and Mining Sector in NSW. We are certified to design overhead and underground electrical power reticulation and have proven ability to produce innovative and cost-effective designs whilst maintaining the highest levels of quality, reliability and safety required by our customers.

As an experienced ASP level 3, we are proud to provide our services to a broad range of developers, councils, consultants, civil contractors, electrical contractors (ASP Level 1), property owners and other industries with Distribution Network Service Provider (DNSP) such as Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy and Essential Energy.

iEngineering has developed a team of highly skilled personnel including professional engineers, surveyors and drafters who can provide the necessary diverse skills required for electricity network designs.

Our team has ability to manage your project from concept, design, certification, estimation, tender and contract formulation through to construction phase. We have an extensive team of engineers and project managers with extensive experience in the electricity distribution industry along with other industries including power generation, mining, renewable energy (wind or solar) steel manufacturing, electrical contracting, electric vehicle charging stations, consulting and many more.

The individual skills, qualities, and commitment to customer service of our personnel form the basis of our approach to every project. Our teams are chosen based on their skill and expertise and are assembled on an experience-specific basis for each project. We have a flexible approach which allows for direct contract, alliances, joint ventures, or we can simply act as client support.

Consulting & Concept Design

With reference to client’s load (MD) requirements, iEngineering can provide most cost-effective construction options at concept design stage for master planning and then subsequently submit application with Power Utility for a Supply Offer.

Our Engineers will check the feasibility of the project by verifying  DNSP GIS for the site, Maximum Demand requirements including Voltage Drop.

Network Design

Overhead (OH) or Underground (UG) design for Residential, Industrial and Commercial developments. OH line modelling for ADSS, NBN, OPGW and Mains Supply & 11/22kV are done as per Australian or Utility Standards via our latest Engineering software such as NEARA, PLSCADD or Poles ‘n’ Wires. Including CAD design for UG Residential Development (URD) for subdivision reticulation with connection to new or existing substation.

Substation Design

Engineering and Design of Pole Mount, Kiosk (pad mount), Ground, Chamber (indoor) substation design to Australian or relevant Utility Standards.

These include new subdivisions, commercial buildings, industrial plants, and rural locations, as well as replacement of existing substations. Our Engineers will work with you to cater for your substation requirements, as well as easement acquisition and other negotiations where required.

Asset Relocation

Carryout design works where any existing assets of the network such as pillars, power poles, streetlights, UG cables, substations need to be relocated, due to road widening, subdivision, aesthetic reasons etc

Lighting Design

Provision of public lighting designs per AS 1158, DNSP Design Standards, and local council requirement for Streets, Roads, Car Parks, Public spaces (Category V & Category P) & Sports Arena such as Football, Cricket and Tennis Stadiums.

Earthing Design & Soil Resistivity

Conducting a soil resistivity tests to determine the most robust earth design using DNSP Earthing tool. We also have a very powerful inhouse Commercial Earthing Software (XGSLab) for nonstandard or complicated earthing design requirements.

We can do earthing design for Zone or Distribution Substations, Solar/Wind Farm, UGOH’s, Switches & Overhead Earth Wires

Survey & Drafting

We can Carry out Site/Field visit, take accurate measurements, e.g., locate property boundaries, pole heights, pole spacing, examine existing easements etc. We then input such information into our Engineering Calculation tools and produce detailed CAD design for construction work as per Australian or DNSP Standards.

Earth Grid Testing

Once Earth Gird has been installed, earth resistance testing to AS/NZS 3017 can be done. We can carry out various type of Earth/Electrode resistance testing such as Fall of Potential Method, 2 Clamp Method, 3 Wire Earth Tester and Current Injection Testing.

ASP Level 1 Construction Estimation

For most Projects, Level 3 Design cost is significantly low compared to Level 1 Construction cost. Our Engineers and Level 1 team can provide Construction Estimation at concept stage to determine the project budget.

Once Design is Certified by DNSP, we can arrange for a final fixed price for L1 Construction work for most projects.

ASP Level 3 Design LiDAR

LiDAR is a method for determining ranges (variable distance) by targeting an object with a laser and measuring the time for the reflected light to return to the receiver. LiDAR can also be used to make digital 3-D representations of areas on the earth’s surface and ocean bottom, due to differences in laser return times, and by varying laser wavelengths. It has terrestrial, airborne, and mobile applications.

LiDAR is an acronym of “light detection and ranging” or “laser imaging, detection, and ranging”. LiDAR sometimes is called 3-D laser scanning, a special combination of a 3-D scanning and laser scanning.

LiDAR is commonly used to make high-resolution maps, with applications in surveying, geodesy, geomatics, archaeology, geography, geology, geomorphology, seismology, forestry, atmospheric physics, laser guidance, airborne laser swath mapping (ALSM), and laser altimetry. The technology is also used in control and navigation for some autonomous cars and for the helicopter Ingenuity on its record-setting flights over the terrain of Mars.

ASP Level 3 Design Substations

Surveying substations is complicated. And believe it or not, conventional survey can increase the complexity. So, what are your options? Well, they all revolve around the use of LiDAR.

ASP Level 3 Design Power line

LiDAR drones optimize digitization of power line corridors The development level reached by LiDAR technology allows it to be used in power line monitoring applications. With aerial point cloud data and appropriate software processing, the power line is easily extracted and generated as a 3D digital model.
